“Star Trek: The Wrath of Dr. Khan”

You probably didn’t know this, but the second Star Trek movie, “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,” was originally set not in outer space, but at a local teaching hospital. It’s true! The movie producers took that first film and repurposed it into the famous sci-fi classic that we all know and love. Pretty crazy, right?

Anyway, in the original version, the movie opens with the newest group of medical interns meeting their attending physician, the legendary Dr. Kirk. Unfortunately, the students quickly learn that the renowned doctor, while famous and heroic and all that, is also kind of a jerk.

But! Just when everything seems to be running smoothly at the hospital, Kirk’s nemesis from the nearby county hospital, Dr. Khan, makes an unexpected appearance. His evil machinations lead to plenty of medical drama, eventually driving Dr. Kirk to utter his famous line: “KHAAAAANNN!”
